Feb 24, 2010 - USAC West Coast 360 Sprint Car Series Notes

Opening night: March 6th Thunderbowl Raceway- Tulare

Regular race purses will be- $1200/win $200/start

Points fund sponsored by SouthWest Contractors, Hoosier Tire and USAC: paid to the top 20 drivers. $5000/champion $500/ 20th place

SouthWest Contractors Mini Series April 10th @ Thunderbowl, May 29th @ Bakersfield, Aug 28th @ Santa Maria, Sept 11th @ Giant. 1st) $2500, 2nd) $1500, 3rd) $1000

Engine rules: ASCS legal Brodix spec heads w/ 2 3/16" x 3" Injection Restrictor or any open head w/ 1 7/8" x 2" Injection Restrictor. The ASCS gasket is no longer a legal restriction option. You can still run it if you wish, but 1 7/8 restrictors must be in. VRA will also be excepting the 1 7/8 restrictor if you do not run the gasket.

Muffler rule: Any 180 degree muffler. (Extreme 180 highly recommended) or Flowmaster large Suitcase muffler (wing sprint muffler that is required at Chico and Ocean)

Tire: RC-3 right rear, RC-1 left rear.

$35 entry fee at each race track. (this does not go to USAC. It goes to the race tracks to help with series employees, purse, etc.) Until this series has established a large fan following, it was the only option to help offset the cost of the purse, employees, etc. for the promoters.

USAC Membership: $250 Driver membership is mandatory. There is a 1 race grace period. Unlike CRA, owner and driver are not required to purchase memberships. Just the driver. Crew memberships are optional, but highly recommended. I purchased a crew membership myself. Show me where else you can get $100,000 in coverage for $150 a year, not to mention, you get member pricing at each track for pit passes. Memberships can be purchased @ https://www.usacracing.com/membership/account_login.html

Guys I know there are things that you may and may not like. All I can say is, I am doing the best I can and plan to continue to do what I think is best long term for the racers, which in turn will be what is best for the promoters with higher car count. I can tell you that I am aproaching this series with the same aproach I took with my Late Model series. They now race for $2000 to win and $500 to start. With great support in car counts and hopefully building a fan base, I will be able to sell this series to the promoters for a little more each year when we go to the Promoter work shop.

Thank you
